semilunar tract
Acronym:
The term semilunar tract refers to the uppermost subdivision of descending branches of the dorsal root fibers. Located in the cervical segments and most of the thoracic segments of the spinal cord, it is comma-shaped in cross-section. The other subdivisions are the septomarginal tract in the lumbar segments of the spinal cord and the tract of Phillippe-Gombault in the sacral segments ( Carpenter-1983 ).
