frontomarginal gyrus
Acronym: ORGfm
The term frontomarginal gyrus (ORGfm) refers to a convolution identified by dissection on the ventral surface of the frontal lobe (FLB) of the human cerebral cortex (CTX) ( Mai-1997 ). It is located rostral to the anterior orbital gyrus (ORGa), medial to the frontomarginal sulcus (fms) and lateral to the medial orbital gyrus (ORGm). Histologically it is considered part of area 10p ( Ongur-2003 ).
      It is not found in the macaque ( Carmichael-1994 ) nor in the smooth cerebral cortex (CTX) of the rat or mouse ( Wise-2008 ). Updated 9 Sep 024.
