The Allen Reference Atlas (ARA) is a part of the the Allen Brain Atlas (ABA) - an interactive, genome-wide image database of gene expression in the mouse brain (C57B1/6J strain). The nomenclature is based on that of Swanson-2004. ABA combines RNA in situ hybridization data, detailed Reference Atlases and informatics analysis tools to provide a searchable digital atlas of gene expression. Together, these resources present a comprehensive online platform for exploration of the brain at the cellular and molecular level.
